INTRODUCTION

This is a relatively large content update but is still listed under the 3.0.X development cycle because much of it is designed to finish features that were incomplete on 3.0.0's initial release.

Flask of Sanity (Mythic)

Idol of the Storm (Iridescent)

  • Casts Tornado every 15.0s (Skill Duration: 10.0s).
  • Tornado pulls every enemy within 20 blocks towards its center.
  • Tornado deals 5000 Chaos damage per second to enemies within 5 blocks.

Mask of Omniscience (Eternal)

Armor - Helmet
  • Protection XX
  • +10.0/15.0/20.0 maximum health.
  • Trigger Eternity's Gaze whenever you Crouch/Block/Take Damage (Cooldown: 5.0s).
  • Adds 10/20/30 Chaos damage to all attacks for every level of Speed. (Up to 100/200/300 Chaos damage).
  • This item deals 1.5/2.0/2.5x more damage to enemies affected by Despair.

The Citadel (Eternal)
Armor - Leggings
  • Protection XX
  • +10.0/15.0/20.0 maximum health.
  • You have Resistance V while blocking. This effect lingers for up to 1.0s/1.5s/2.0s.
  • Restore 10%/15%/20% of your maximum health whenever you take damage.
  • Restore 10/15/20 health every second for every level of Resistance. (Up to 50/75/100 health per second).

Ratt's Scattergun (Iridescent)
Ranged Weapon - Scattergun
  • Damage: 120.0 x10
  • Speed: Very Fast
  • Ammo: Special (Magazine)
  • Burst Fire (3 shots)
  • Crouching focuses shots.
  • Crouching reduces recoil.

Cerberus (Iridescent)

Extended Clip (Iridescent)

  • +50% movement speed.
  • You have Resistance IV (Refreshes every second).
  • 10% chance to Shock with SMGs.
  • Adds 800-1600 damage to ranged attacks with SMGs.

Obsidian Step (Iridescent)
Armor - Boots
  • Depth Strider X, Feather Falling X
  • +30% movement speed.
  • +20.0 maximum health.
  • Inflicts 500 Burning damage over a period of 2.0s with all ranged/magic attacks.
  • Inflicts 1500 Burning damage over a period of 2.0s with all melee attacks.
  • Cannot be Slowed or Frozen.

Giant Pike (Corrupted)
Melee Weapon - Spear
  • No Enchantments
  • +12 weapon range.
  • 100% increased knockback.
  • Knockback direction is reversed.
  • This weapon's knockback cannot be resisted.

BALANCE CHANGES

There are a large number of balance changes in this update, most of which are in response to the initial release of 3.0.0. Some of these, particularly the major changes to auras and Time's Elegy (Unique), have been done to counteract severe bugs on the server.

DROP RATE CHANGES
  • Enemies in the Dark Forest now have 100% increased currency drop yield.
  • Enemies in the Void Plains now have 50% increased currency drop rate and 50% increased drop yield.
  • Enemies in the Infernal Isles now have 100% increased currency drop rate.
  • Enemies in the Infernal Isles now gain Resistance V for 2.0s (from 5.0s).
  • Infernal Isles difficulty rating has been reduced to 3 stars (from 4 stars).
Comments: Endgame players had no actual incentive to do harder Omniplex zones beyond testing their builds. We have buffed the currency droprates to give players more rewards for taking bigger risks.
  • Enemies in the Labyrinth will now drop non-currency items 25% of the time (from 10%).
Comments: This was adjusted due to newer players having much lower kills per second than expected, preventing them from acquiring decent gear quickly.

SHOP CHANGES

Random Currency (Voting - Tier III)

  • Cost reduced to 200 runes (from 300).
  • Star Fragment chance reduced to 35% (from 50%).
  • Nova Fragment chance increased to 60% (from 45%).
  • Nova Fragment amount increased to 5 (from 2).
  • Shard of Space chance increased to 5% (from 1.5%).
  • Cosmic Convergence chance increased to 0.1% (from 0.03%).
Comments: The runes to currency conversion for Tier III did not provide any real advantage to using runes over just farming zones, thus removing the incentive for endgame players to vote. We have significantly buffed the rates and average amounts in order to rectify this problem.

Random Currency (Voting - Tier II)
  • Cost reduced to 150 runes (from 200).
Unidentified Exalted Item
  • Cost reduced to 250 runes (from 300).
Unidentified Corrupted Item
  • Cost reduced to 500 runes (from 1000).
Unidentified Iridescent Item
  • Cost reduced to 500 runes (from 1500).
Comments: The ranks are more difficult to achieve than previously believed, making the increasing rune costs of higher-tiered items virtually pointless. We have reduced the cost of any item in the menu to a maximum of 500 runes per item in order to balance this a bit better.

AURA BALANCE CHANGES

It was recently discovered that all auras actually triggered 8 times per second instead of 5 with the sole exception of Orb of Cinder.
Due to players being used to their power, all existing auras have been given hefty buffs to keep them at similar power levels after fixing this bug.

Orb of Frost (Unique)
  • Base damage increased 750 (from 25).
  • Freeze duration increased to 10.0s (from 5.0s).

Orb of Cinder (Unique)
  • Base damage increased to 800 (from 80).
  • No longer deals self damage.
  • Now inflicts 800 Burning damage over a period of 2.0s.

Orb of Dunes (Unique)
  • Base damage increased to 300 (from 35).
  • No longer inflicts Weakness X and Blindness.
  • Now inflicts 1000 Toxin damage over a period of 2.0s.

Orb of Acceleration (Unique)
  • Base damage increased to 100 (from 65).
  • No longer gives Speed to enemies.
  • Now inflicts Shock for 10.0s on hit.

Orb of Blood (Iridescent)
  • No longer heals 10% of your maximum health when you hit an enemy.
  • Bleed damage now applies over 1.0s instead of 2.0s but has a 50% reduced internal cooldown.

Orb of Chaos (Corrupted)
  • Base damage increased to 250 (from 20).
  • No longer removes Resistance.
  • Now inflicts Despair for 10.0s.
  • Now deals 250 Chaos damage on hit.

SMG BALANCE CHANGES

SMGs in general are pretty bad choices until the endgame, wherein a few outliers become viable.
We have rebalanced many early-game SMGs to make them more competitive choices for new players.

Global SMG Changes
  • SMGs no longer have recoil.
  • Spread reduced to 0.8 blocks (from 1.0 blocks).
  • Crouched spread reduced to 0.5 blocks (from 0.8 blocks).

Obliteration (Iridescent)
  • Reverted all nerfs.
    • :^)

The Widowmaker (Mythic)
  • Renamed to Widow's Kiss.
  • Item sprite changed to Red Bed (from Black Bed).
  • Base damage increased to 60 (from 30).
  • No longer inflicts Nausea on hit.
  • Now has 20% critical strike chance.
  • Now deals 8.0x damage on critical hit.

The Syringe (Exalted)
  • Base damage increased to 40 (from 22.5).
  • Regeneration on hit increased to Regeneration X (from Regeneration V).
  • Now has 30% critical strike chance.
  • Now deals 3.0x damage on critical hit.

The Taipan (Superior)
  • Base damage increased to 30 (from 15).
  • No longer inflicts Poison on hit.
  • Now has 25% critical strike chance.
  • Now deals 5.0x damage on critical hit.
  • Maximum ammo increased to 40 (from 20).

Pirson Smig (Rare)
  • Base damage increased to 20 (from 9.5).
  • No longer slows targets on hit.
  • Now has 20% critical strike chance.
  • Now deals 4.0x damage on critical hit.
  • Maximum ammo increased to 30 (from 16).

OTHER ITEM CHANGES

Time's Elegy (Unique)

  • No longer deals Chaos damage.
  • Now deals 100-200 physical damage per potion effect.
Comments: Time's Elegy was broken. Literally.
When combined with other items it could actually lag the server and cause serious problems due to the way Chaos damage triggers status effects. We have changed its damage type to an equivalent value in physical damage in order to rectify these issues.


Scrapshooter (Unique)
  • Base damage increased to 600 (from 400).
  • Projectile count increased to 60 (from 40).
  • Maximum ammo increasd to 6 (from 5).
Comments: Scrapshooter was originally designed to have 60 projectiles but was nerfed preemptively in order to avoid making projectile builds too strong. But seeing as all the top-tier projectile weapons already do around 60 projectiles per second, we have returned it to its original power to create more build diversity.

Architect's Nightmare (Ascended)
  • Reverted all previous damage nerfs.
    • :^)))

Flakinator (Iridescent)
  • Projectile count increased to 12 (from 10).
  • Maximum ammo increased to 10 (from 6).
Comments: Flakinator's nerf was a bit too severe, making it far worse than items with a much higher drop rate.
We have given it a boost in power to bring it back to where it should be.


The Slow Death (Iridescent)
  • Base damage increased to 1000 (from 50).
  • Projectile count reduced to 1 (from 4).
  • Projectile speed change reverted.
  • Now gains 2500 damage for each tick in the air (from 250).

Shield Slam (Iridescent)
  • Base damage increased to 1000 (from 30).
  • Reload type changed to Magazine (from Single).
  • Ammo capacity increased to 5 (from 1).
  • Now has 100% critical strike chance.
  • Now deals 50.0x damage on critical hit.
  • Now deals 50.0x damage on headshot.

Giant's Spike (Iridescent)
  • Now gives "Weapon knockback cannot be resisted".

Spear of the Four Winds (Iridescent)
  • No longer deals 500-1000 damage.
  • Now deals 500-1000 damage per ailment on an enemy (up to 2000-4000 damage).
  • Drop rate reduced to 0.5% (from 2%).
Comments: Spear of the Four Winds has always had low base damage by virtue of being the first long-range spear made on the server.
This update adds a ton of much stronger spears at lower tiers, so we have buffed Spear of the Four Winds to keep up with its own weapon class.


Earthquake (Iridescent)
  • Base damage increased to 1000-2000 (from 800-1200).
  • Aftershock multiplier increased to 500% (from 300%).

The Leviathan (Iridescent)
  • Drop rate reduced to 0.5% (from 2%).
Comments: The Leviathan is one of the most powerful items on the server. Its original drop rate was far too high and has been reduced to match its strength.

Creeping Death (Corrupted)
  • Bleed damage reduced to 250 (from 500).
  • Now deals double damage while you have 100 or more Strength.

Mutilation (Corrupted)
  • Maximum ammo increased to 20 (from 8).

Dragonfire Shield (Corrupted)
  • Burning damage reduced to 1500 (from 2500).
  • No longer deals double damage while you have Strength.
  • Now deals triple damage while you are holding a sword.
Comments: Dragonfire Shield is considerably stronger than any other off-hand accessory due to its flexibility and ease of use.
We have given it more specific conditions to reduce its overall strength and discourage use of it in non-melee builds.


The Maverick (Corrupted)
  • No longer deals Chaos damage.
  • Now deals 300-500 physical damage per negative potion effect on you.
Comments: The Maverick suffered the same problems as Time's Elegy, just on a much smaller scale.
We have given it the same treatment preemptively in case it ever gets out of control.


Great War Repeater (Exalted)
  • Base damage increased to 100 (from 35).
  • Ammo capacity reduced to 60 (from 64).

Rottweiler (Superior)
  • Critical strike multiplier increased to 5.0x (from 3.0x).
  • Maximum ammo increased to 16 (from 12).

Scatterburst (Superior)
  • Delay between shots increased to 1.0s (from 0.5s).
Comments: Scatterburst was a lot stronger than expected due to its unnaturally fast fire delay. We have given it an appropriate nerf to make it fit into its own tier better. However, an alternate version of it will be immortalized as Ratt's Scattergun, a new Iridescent item listed earlier in the changelog.

Carbine (Superior)
  • Base damage increased to 60 (from 20).
  • No longer has recoil.
  • Projectile spread reduced to 0.8 blocks (from 2 blocks).
  • Projectile spread while crouching reduced to 0.1 blocks (from 1 block).

Hunting Rifle (Rare)
  • Base damage increased to 25 (from 10).
Comments: The Hunting Rifle couldn't even kill enemies in its own tier, even with the previous sniper rifle buffs. We have greatly increased its overall damage to bring it in line with other rare weapons.

MOB BALANCE CHANGES

Flared Centurion

  • No longer deals knockback with bow attacks.
  • Now deals 50% more damage with bow attacks.

Comments: This was not changed for balance, but rather to prevent the anticheat from triggering every time someone was hit by them.

LEGACY CHANGES

The following items have been removed from the drop pool and will now only be accessible through Theodore:
  • Realmsplitter (Iridescent)
  • Anemic Alacrity (Iridescent)

OTHER CHANGES
  • Eternal items are now craftable from the Starsmith NPC in the Omniplex. This requires the Elder rank.
  • Greatly reduced the number of particles from status effects and damage over time. This should fix numerous lag issues.
  • Flasks no longer say "on usage" for most effects, given that they don't actually apply anything passively.
  • Items that gain bonuses from melee but aren't actually melee (such as auras) no longer display said modifier with red text.
  • Locked the western doors of the church in Paleon to encourage new players to go east towards the mines.
  • The first hologram in the mines now tells new players that KeepInv is enabled.
  • Improved the marketplace entrance in Paleon.
  • Improved the Omniplex hub slightly.
  • Improved the layouts & aesthetics of the following NPC shops:
    • Alchemist (Paleon)
    • Alchemist (Selthine)
    • Pequod (Caeron)
    • Brewmaster (Vyrdano)
    • Enchantress (Vyrdano)
    • Junk Seller (Vyrdano)
    • Fletcher (Vyrdano)

  • The Junk Seller (Vyrdano) now accepts unidentified items for Runes, as shown below:
    • Unidentified Mythic Item - 1 Rune
    • Unidentified Corrupted Item - 5 Runes
    • Unidentified Iridescent Item - 10 Runes
  • Clarified which ailments are considered elemental in the codex.
  • Toxin now inflicts the Poison effect.
  • Updated various articles in the Helpful Tome.
  • The Helpful Tome can now be opened remotely using /helpfultome and /tome.
BUG FIXES
  • Fixed Dummies displaying their maximum health incorrectly upon spawning.
  • Fixed Sparrowhawk, The Rhino, and Rain Dancer not actually having Depth Strider.
    • Legacy versions will retain their broken enchants and require manual exchanging.
  • Fixed explosive items having outdated item formats/descriptions.
  • Fixed NPCs being pushable with AoE weapons by changing all villager NPCs to player NPCs.
  • Fixed ender crystals in the Titan's Trial persisting.
  • Fixed /list showing players with the wrong categories.
  • Fixed Architect's Vision (Unique), Flask of Prescience (Unique), and Flask of Curing (Rare) not curing Glowing, Hunger, and Levitation.
  • Fixed players being able to set homes and accept teleports in the Omniplex hub.
  • Fixed players being able to teleport through the Mages' Guild Tower's walls.
  • Fixed A Literal Microwave (Iridescent) igniting enemies even if you did not have Strength.
  • Fixed summons being summonable inside towns/safezones.
  • Fixed Toxin inflicting 10 seconds of Nausea instead of 5 seconds.
