Welcome to Aryntius Legacy 2.9.0!

This is a massive content update that introduces 30 new unique/ascended items, 11 other new items, 10 of which are Corrupted or Iridescent, some absolutely enormous balance changes, and new player-designed items! A lot of these have had a long time coming and should greatly improve the quality of life and general gameplay aspects of the server.

MAJOR GAMEPLAY CHANGES
Instead of putting these somewhere in the balance section, we will list these important changes right here, front and center.

  • All monsters and bosses will no longer deal chaos damage with direct hits, including with slam attacks.
This means Resistance V will provide full 100% invulnerability against any enemy hit. In addition, Resistance has been reworked on all items so that the plight of having higher levels of resistance overwritten by lower levels of resistance should no longer happen. Do note that Bleed will still affect players with Resistance V, as it is not considered a direct hit.

  • It will no longer be possible to put weapons, armor, and tools in your off hand.
Comments: Aryntius has a long history with the off hand slot being used for things it wasn't intended for. There were both beautiful and horrifying results. Unfortunately, the price of this was that off-hand items would never be able to compete with weapons being used in the off hand slot. Simply buffing existing off-hand items to extreme heights just to compete with weapons would defeat the purpose, as at that point it'd be objectively better to just use said item as a weapon. Thus, the off hand exploit, the longest running unintentional feature of Aryntius, has finally been patched.

  • Chests in all dungeons will now give Unidentified items instead of actual items.
  • Unidentified items can be identified by right-clicking, much like the Legacy Crate.
  • This was done to futureproof any upcoming balance changes and give players a much larger loot table to explore from treasure hunting.

Altered the way modifiers are displayed on every item. Specifically, the following:
  • Replaced all instances of ★ with ► in order to make descriptions look better in 1.13+ clients.
  • Items above Exalted will no longer have italic stat descriptions in order to make them easier to read.
  • Items with italic names will now also have italic lore descriptions. This was done to make names, tiers, and lore have a consistent format.
  • The vast majority of existing items are fully compatible with these changes. However, older currency items will no longer function.
    • To rectify this, you can now exchange legacy currency items for their updated versions using the new command, /fixmycurrency.

NEW UNIQUE ITEMS
There are 30 new unique/ascended items introduced this update, all of which come from the Atlas. A few of them were designed by community members! They are listed below in order of region:

BALANCE CHANGES - MOBS/BOSSES
In continuation of our changes in the last update (2.8.0), we have done a full rebalance of all enemy damage. Notably, many of these changes also affect how the enemies may behave, such as altered phases and attack patterns.
  • All Titans have had their base health increased to 100,000 (from 50,000).
  • All Titans have had their base melee damage reduced to 500 (from 1,000).
  • All Atlas bosses have had their base melee damage reduced to 250 (from 500).
  • Enemies that regenerate health (such as monsters in the Titans' Realm) no longer do so while affected by Ignite.

Magmos
  • Light attack damage reduced to 600 (from 750).
  • Heavy attack damage reduced to 900 (from 1,250).
  • Nova attack is now 50% larger.
  • Nova attack now happens 50% faster.
  • No longer spawns lava plains.
  • Now properly spawns meteors.

Vraast
  • Heavy attack damage reduced to 900 (from 1,250).
  • Heavy attack Freeze chance reduced to 40% (from 100%).
  • Spawned minions are now immortal.
  • No longer casts Ice Plains.

Sahuvar
  • First Phase Toxin attack damage reduced to 120 (from 150)
  • Teleport melee attack damage reduced to 750 (from 1,250).
  • Nova/Suck attack damage reduced to 250 (from 1,500).
  • Now only does 2 slams in his first phase.
  • No longer does 1-shot barrage attack in second phase.
Comments: Sahuvar was created when players had easy access to Speed X and 80.0 maximum health. This is no longer reasonable to obtain by the time they would encounter him, so his stats have been adjusted accordingly.

Valley of Venom
  • Removed the first 3 enemy spawnpoints to prevent players from being spawncamped.
  • Melee enemies' toxin chance reduced to 25% (from 50%).
  • Ranger enemies' toxin bolt damage reduced to 120 (from 150).

Nameless Titan
  • Global damage reduced by 50%.

Realm Guardian
  • No longer immune to resistance removal.
  • Global damage reduced by 80%.

Quu'rak
  • Leech Nova attack damage reduced to 500 (from 1,000).

Desert of Despair
  • Ancient Abominations' health increased to 7,500 (from 4,500).

Ancient Sentinel
  • Maximum health increased to 3,000 (from 2,000).
  • Projectile damage reduced to 350 (from 500).
  • Sentry damage reduced to 250 (from 500).

The Architect
  • Maximum health increased to 25,000 (from 5,000).

Comments: Some of the Trials bosses' and the Architect's armors do not actually provide any protection enchantments. This was completely unintended behavior. We have increased their maximum health to compensate for this discrepancy.

BALANCE CHANGES - ITEMS
A very large number of items have been changed this patch, especially those that provide healing, restoration, and resistance. The healing changes were done preemptively in response to the enemy damage and Resistance V changes listed earlier, otherwise players would likely end up virtually immortal with practically no investment into defenses. The ultimate goal of these changes is to reduce both sides of the power creep so players don't feel like they are getting one-shot randomly and bosses don't disappear instantly just by running 1-2 damage items.
Doom Fist (Indecent)
  • Now has a 50% chance for enemy hits to deal lethal damage.
    • This applies to all versions of the item.
Comments: Doom Fist was never intended to be the end all be all of items, as it later turned out to be. We have given it an appropriate balance change to make it harder to use while keeping its silly theme.

The Bastion (Iridescent)
  • Melee damage reduced to 1,000-2,500 (from 10,000).
  • Projectile damage reduced to 250-800 (from 3,500).
  • No longer reduces movement speed to 0.
  • You are now Frozen while this is equipped.
  • Tier changed to Corrupted.
Comments: The Bastion has an interesting history due to its exploit behavior being really damn interesting. But ultimately, such an item existing proved harmful for build diversity on the server, as pretty much EVERY loadout ran it in some form. We have given it a hefty nerf along with a noticeable rework to hammer home the point of this balance patch. All Iridescent versions of it will immediately stop functioning, except for the 0% movement speed stat which is a vanilla attribute.

Death's Door (Iridescent)
  • Resistance from this item can no longer be triggered while you already have Resistance.

Obliteration (Iridescent)
  • Burst fire reduced to 8 shots (from 10 shots).
  • Maximum ammo capacity reduced to 40 (from 50).
Comments: Despite its previous nerf, Obliteration was still well above the rest of the ranged weapons. We have reduced its barrage to 32 projectiles (from 40 projectiles) in order to make it less of a best-in-slot item.

Venomhusk (Iridescent)
  • Projectile count increased to 9 (from 6).
Comments: :^)

Void Pact (Iridescent)
  • Healing now applies over a period of 10.0 seconds (instead of instantly).
  • Healing now has a cooldown of 2.0 seconds.
  • Healing now also applies whenever you take damage.

Chrono Aquira (Iridescent)
  • Now gives Regeneration X instead of Regeneration V.

Holy Visage (Iridescent)
  • Healing on attack reduced to 5% (from 25%).
  • Healing on damage taken reduced to 5% (from 15%).

The Cannibal (Iridescent)
  • Bleed chance reduced to 25% (from 35%).
  • Healing per stack reduced to 10.0 (from 50.0).
  • Healing duration decreased to 3.0 seconds (from 5.0 seconds).

The Art of War (Iridescent)
  • Healing reduced to 5-10 (from 10-15).

The Inquisitor (Iridescent)
  • Chance to refresh gold hearts reduced to 10% (from 25%).

Singularity Crown (Iridescent)
  • Healing per stack reduced to 10.0 (from 50.0).

Juggernaut's Platelegs (Iridescent)
  • Healing from melee attacks reduced to 5.0 (from 20.0).
  • Healing from regeneration reduced to 5.0 (from 10.0).

Juggernaut's Sabatons (Iridescent)
  • Now gives immunity to Weakness.

Guardian Armor Set (Iridescent)
  • Gold hearts now refresh once every 10.0 seconds (from 3.0 seconds).
  • Gold hearts now only apply to allies and not yourself.
  • Now has a new particle effect.

Guardian's Platemail (Iridescent)
  • Maximum health increased to 20.0 (from 15.0).
  • No longer provides spam-healing while affected by Levitation.
  • Now fully restores your health over 2.0 seconds once every 10.0 seconds.
  • Now gives immunity to Levitation.

Guardian's Robes (Iridescent)
  • No longer heals yourself and nearby allies while you have Regeneration.
  • Now gives 20% chance to Shock or Ignite enemies with ranged/magic attacks.

Scythe of the Sands (Iridescent)
  • Sharpness reduced to D (from M).
  • Chance to refresh gold hearts reduced to 10% (from 30%).
  • Tier changed to Unique.
  • Now drops from the Sand Spirit in the Ancient Desert (Atlas).

Skullsmasher (Iridescent)
  • Area of Effect multiplier reduced to 150% (from 400%).

Crimson Echoes (Iridescent)
  • Maximum health reduced to 10.0 (from 20.0).
  • Healing reduced to 2.5% (from 10%).
  • Added melee damage reduced to 400-800 (from 1,500-2,500).

Ethereal Aegis (Iridescent)
  • Chance to refresh gold hearts reduced to 10% (from 25%).

Facebreaker (Iridescent)
  • No longer provides Resistance IV while blocking.
  • Now restores 10.0 health per second while blocking.
  • Maximum melee damage reduced to 2,500 (from 5,000).
  • Chaos damage conversion rate reduced to 25% (from 50%).

Turtle Shield (Iridescent)
  • No longer gives Resistance V while 6 copies are equipped in hotbar.
  • Now gives the following stats while equipped in your off hand:
  • +10.0 maximum health.
  • Summons a Magical Turtle that can give one of the following effects every 10 seconds:
    • Gain Resistance V for 5.0 seconds.

Comments: With the global damage nerfs in play, Architect's Nightmare would have become the unrivaled best weapon on the server. We have reduced its overall damage by 50% (to pre-2.4.0 levels) to accomodate these changes.

OTHER CHANGES
  • Enemies will no longer drop EXP.
Comments: For a long time now, enemies in Aryntius dropped EXP orbs but there were no ways to exchange them or use them for anything. Due to how Minecraft's EXP system works, (i.e. taking levels instead of raw EXP for enchants, etc.) we have decided to simply stop dropping EXP as there are no reasonable ways to implement a vanilla EXP to currency exchange.
  • Added a brand new GUI for fast travel! It has replaced the old /ft menu.
  • Early-game drops such as Common items are now limited to 1 per enemy.
  • Earlygame Iridescent items now officially have their own tier: Lesser Iridescent.
    • Lesser Iridescent items are now no longer guaranteed to drop from bosses.
      • Their new drop rate is now 5%.
  • Trials bosses will no longer drop Iridescent items.
  • Trials bosses will now drop Lesser Iridescent items.
  • Architect's Compasses can now be found inside treasure chests within the Labyrinth.
  • The Forgotten Reliquary Chest has been renamed to Legacy Chest, seeing as the reliquary no longer functions.
    • Existing versions of this item will continue to function. Feel free to keep an old one as a trophy. :^)
    • Greatly improved the aesthetics of the Legacy Chest.
  • Chests in the Rifts will now have a small chance to spawn Unidentified Iridescent items.
  • Reduced iridescent chest respawn time to 7 days (from 30 days).
  • Hotbar items now have a new line in their descriptions that shows where they should be equipped.
  • The "+X while equipped" health modifier has been rephrased to "+X maximum health".
  • Unless stated otherwise on the item, the duration of any status effect is now 5 seconds.
  • Items that specified their status duration as 5 seconds have had these now-unnecessary lines truncated.

BUG FIXES
  • Fixed Hulaak's Warcry (Unique) not applying effects to its original caster.
  • Fixed Cloud Regalia (Mythic) healing you for 10% of your maximum health whenever you took damage.
