ARYNTIUS LEGACY - CONTENT UPDATE 2.7.0

This is a large content update that brings back the original starting zone, albeit with many reworks, and adds various other items and features such as a completely new ammo system for ranged weapons and a completely new respawn system for dungeons. In all, the update should make the new player experience significantly more interesting and fun and fixes various QoL issues that have popped up over the years.

NEW CONTENT
  • Added the original starting town, Paleon.
    • All new players will spawn from this location.
    • Returning players can access it using /warp Paleon.
  • Added 2 new dungeons - These are accessible directly from Paleon.
    • The Mines
    • The Catacombs
  • Added 2 new bosses.
    • The Crystal King (The Mines)
    • Shadow Spirit (The Catacombs)
  • Added 6 new enemies - These can be found in the Mines and the Catacombs.
    • Undead Miner
    • Evil Minecart
    • Cave Dweller
    • Ancient Cultist
    • Brutal Cultist
    • Undead Villager
Added 5 new ammo types for ranged weapons that replace the original vanilla item ammo system.
  • Light Ammunition

This prevents currency such as Silver and Gold coins being devoured by ammo-hungry weapons and rebalances some ranged weapons around ammo economy. These ammo items can drop occasionally from normal enemies and drop more frequently from bosses. You can also purchase ammo for Sigmas from the Arms Dealer NPC, a new NPC that can be found in any of the major towns (Selthine, Caeron, Vyrdano, and Paleon).

Added the Architect's Compass, a currency item found by killing Labyrinth bosses.
  • The Locomancer NPC in the Labyrinth now uses Architect's Compasses instead of Star Fragments.
  • Each Labyrinth boss is guaranteed to drop at least 1, increasing as you get deeper into the dungeon.
Added a brand new respawning system. Players in any dungeon will now respawn at the beginning upon death (instead of at their first home or the spawnpoint of the entire world if they have no homes set). Logging out inside most dungeons will now also reset the player's position to the dungeon's beginning. The Labyrinth is an exception due to its enormous length. Certain boss rooms (listed below) will always respawn the player in the same room instead of at the beginning of their repsective dungeons:
  • The Architect (Final boss of the Labyrinth)
  • The Abyss Lord (Final boss of the Titan's Realm)

Added 4 new Pistols--a class of rapid-shooting ranged weapons that use Light Ammunition.

Added 2 new Iridescent items, both of which are SMGs.

    • Base Damage: 120.0
    • Speed: Insanely Fast

    • 2.0x critical strike multiplier.
  • Obliteration (Iridescent) - Weapon (Ranged)
    • Base Damage: 40.0 x4
    • Speed: Insanely Fast
    • Maximum Ammo: 100
    • Burst fire (10 shots).
    • Crouching reduces spread.

Added 8 new earlygame off-hand accessory items.
  • Iron Catalyst (Rare)
    • +5.0 maximum health.
    • Adds 10.0 to 15.0 damage to all melee attacks.
  • Silver Catalyst (Rare)
    • +5.0 maximum health.
    • Adds 5.0 to 10.0 damage to all ranged/magic attacks.
  • Golden Catalyst (Rare)
    • +5.0 maximum health.
    • Restore 5.0 health each second.
  • Shifting Catalyst (Rare)
    • +5.0 maximum health.
    • Gain Speed IV for 10.0s when you hit an enemy.
    • Gain Haste IV for 10.0s when you hit an enemy.
  • Frenzied Amplifier (Superior)
    • +10.0 maximum health.
    • Gain Speed IV for 10.0s when you hit an enemy.
    • Gain Haste IV for 10.0s when you hit an enemy.
  • Enraged Amplifier (Superior)
    • +10.0 maximum health.
    • Adds 20.0 to 30.0 damage to all melee attacks.
    • Restore 5.0 health when you deal melee damage.
  • Distant Amplifier (Superior)
    • +10.0 maximum health.
    • Adds 10.0 to 15.0 damage to all ranged/magic attacks.
    • Restore 2.0 health when you deal ranged/magic damage.
  • Elemental Amplifier (Superior)
    • +10.0 maximum health.
    • 20% chance to Shock.
    • 20% chance to Freeze.
    • 20% chance to Ignite.

BALANCE CHANGES
  • Death's Hand (Corrupted)
    • No longer does 50,000 physical damage on ability hit.
    • Now deals 4,000 Chaos damage on ability hit.
  • Facebreaker (Iridescent)
    • Melee damage floor increased to 1,000 (from 250).
    • Melee damage ceiling lowered to 5,000 (from 6,000).
    • No longer has 30% chance to increase base damage by 900%.
    • Now gains 50% of base damage as additional chaos damage while affected by Haste.
Comments: These two items have been changed because having such high damage causes the Minecraft client to create significantly more particles when a hit is registered, causing massive lag to players with weaker computers. There is no way to patch this behavior due to it being entirely client-sided so instead we elected to convert the physical damage values into rough approximations of their chaos damage equivalents. Facebreaker in particular has received a small rework to make it more interesting to run.

The following ranged items have received notable balance changes in addition to the new ammunition system changes:
  • Rancher's Rifle (Common)
    • Critical strike multiplier reduced to 300% (from 500%).
  • Fireborn Staff (Common)
    • Base damage increased to 20.0 (from 10.0).
  • Sawed-Off (Uncommon)
    • Fire delay decreased to 0.25s (from 0.5s).
    • Maximum ammo increased to 4 (from 2).
    • Reload time decreased by 50%.
  • Mithril Shotgun (Rare)
    • Fire delay decreased to 0.25s (from 0.5s).
    • Maximum ammo increased to 4 (from 2).
    • Reload time decreased by 50%.
  • Clockwork Tempest (Superior)
    • Fire delay decreased to 0.25s (from 0.5s).
    • Maximum ammo increaed to 8 (from 3).
    • Reload time decreased by 75%.
  • Scatterburst (Superior)
    • Maximum ammo increased to 15 (from 3).
  • Coronal Ejection (Mythic)
    • Maximum ammo increased to 20 (from 1).
  • Flamethrower (Iridescent)
    • Maximum ammo increased to 300 (from 64).
  • Stratocumulus (Unique)
    • Maximum ammo increased to 40 (from 15).
    • Fire delay increased to 0.5s (from 0.4s)
    • Burst fire increased to 4 (from 3).
  • Caldera (Unique)
    • Base damage increased to 400 (from 250).
    • Damage loss per tick reduced to 5 (from 10).
    • Maximum damage loss increased to 300 (from 225).
  • Dream Eater (Unique)
    • Maximum ammo decreased to 8 (from 12).
  • Revolution (Unique)
    • Maximum ammo increased to 12 (from 6).
    • Item sprite changed to Gold Hoe (from Gold Ingot).
Singularity (Unique) has received a full rework.
  • Maximum ammo increased to 40 (from 12).
  • Grenade detonation time decreased to 1.0s (from 1.5s).
  • Maximum damage increased to 25,000 (from 3,000).
  • Fire delay decreased to 1.5s (from 1.8s)
  • No longer inflicts Slowness and Wither on hit.
  • Now removes enemy Resistance on hit.
Comments: Singularity has been a particularly bad item since its release, dealing poor damage and having no synergies with anything else while having a massive 10-second reload time. We cannot fix its synergy problems due to the way it was designed, but we can totally alter its other stats and make it faster and more responsive to play. We hope this hefty rework can make it feel like a truly powerful and unique item.

And lastly, all rocket launchers now have a maximum ammo of 5, except for Avenging Wrath, which has a maximum of 10.

OTHER CHANGES
  • Added a safe zone/lobby to the Seal of Creation raid.
  • Increased the size of doorways in Vyrdano's Town Hall building.
  • Reduced enemy i-frames to 0 ticks (from 2 ticks).
  • Reduced player i-frames to 0 ticks (from 8 ticks).
  • Temporarily removed the April Fool warp. His fight will return in a future update.
The reduction in enemy i-frames (invincibility frames) will have a noticeable effect on multi-projectile weapons and rapid-fire weapons (around 15-20% more damage) while the reduction in player i-frames should make self-damage builds significantly more consistent to run.

BUG FIXES
  • Fixed Charm of Divinity (Corrupted) not applying effects to the wearer.
  • Fixed Flamethrower (Iridescent) not displaying its ability to scale off melee damage.

  • Fixed new players being able to bypass the beginner dungeons using the fast travel menus.
  • Added Paleon to the fast travel menu.
  • Selthine now requires Settler and higher to use fast travel.
  • The Labyrinth now requires Settler and higher to use fast travel.
